Intel to present Keynote outlining intersection of Healthcare and IoT

IoT Slam Virtual Internet of Things Conference -IntelIntel Healthcare’s Worldwide Medical Director John Sotos MD, is to deliver a Keynote at the Second International IoT Slam 2016 virtual internet of things conference, April 28th 2016, held online in the cloud.

Organized by experts and authorities in the IoT industry and backed by the world’s largest CxO IoT Community (consisting of 13,300+ senior business executives and the IoT industry movers and shakers), this online conference will highlight key trends, real world industry use-cases, important advancements and defining accomplishments in the development and management of IoT.

In his Keynote titled: “Reaching the healthcare Internet of Things” Dr Sotos will outline how the Internet of Things promises the ability to monitor multiple physiological functions of humans outside of the hospital — continuously, accurately, conveniently, economically, and on a large scale.

His  presentation will discuss several factors that will influence how and when this vision can be achieved, including:

(1) Questions about the benefits (and harms) of IoT data, from both a clinical outcomes perspective and a cost-effectiveness perspective,
(2) The effect of governmental regulation on sensors, connections, and analytics, and, from this, the bounds of non-regulated consumer healthcare, and
(3) Questions of who pays for such services in healthcare, and how physicians are compensated to look at IoT data.
