These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of IoTCommunity.net and other websites, online services, community programmes, masterclasses, learning services and digital resources operated by IoT Community Ltd that link to these Terms (together, the “Services”).

Please read these Terms before using the Services. By accessing or using a Service, registering for an account or programme, or submitting content to us, you agree to these Terms. If a separate written agreement, event term, sponsorship agreement, membership agreement or purchase condition applies to a particular Service, that specific agreement will take precedence to the extent of any conflict.

1. About IoT Community

The Services are operated by IoT Community Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 10018951.

2. Using the Services

You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with laws and regulations applicable to you.

Unless a Service expressly permits otherwise, you must be at least 18 years old to create an account, join as an individual member, or enter into a paid or contractual arrangement with us. Organisations may authorise appropriate representatives to act on their behalf.

3. Accounts and registration information

Some Services may require registration or an account. You agree to provide information that is accurate and reasonably current and to keep login credentials secure.

You must not share credentials in a way that gives unauthorised users access to restricted content, paid services, assessments, certificates or member-only areas. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account where that activity results from your failure to keep credentials secure.

Please notify us promptly if you believe an account or credential has been compromised.

4. Licence to use our content

Unless otherwise stated, IoT Community or its licensors owns or controls the copyright, database rights, trade marks and other intellectual-property rights in the Services and their content, including articles, reports, videos, event recordings, graphics, reference architectures, course material, assessments, downloads, branding and website design (“Content”).

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access and use Content for your own personal or internal business learning and reference purposes, subject to any additional licence stated with the Content.

You may quote short extracts with appropriate attribution where permitted by law. You may not, without our prior written permission or another applicable licence:

• republish, sell, sublicense or commercially redistribute substantial parts of the Content;
• remove copyright, trade mark or attribution notices;
• share restricted, member-only, paid or assessment content with unauthorised users;
• systematically scrape, harvest or extract Content to create a competing database, archive or publication;
• use substantial Content to train, fine-tune or populate a commercial artificial-intelligence model or dataset; or
• circumvent technical access controls or restrictions.

Nothing in these Terms restricts a use that cannot lawfully be restricted, including any applicable statutory exception.

5. IoT Community brands

IoT Community®, IoT Slam®, GenAIoT™ and associated names, logos, marks and designs are brands of IoT Community and/or their respective rights holders. No licence to use a brand, logo or trade mark is granted except where we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

6. Events, masterclasses, learning and community programmes

Event programmes, speakers, venues, delivery formats, session times and availability may change. We may substitute speakers, adjust schedules, move content online, limit capacity or cancel a session where reasonably necessary.

Registration for an event, masterclass, course, assessment, membership tier or other programme may be subject to additional terms shown at registration or agreed separately. Where fees are charged, the applicable price, payment, cancellation and refund terms will be those presented for that transaction or set out in the relevant agreement.

Certificates, assessments or completion records demonstrate participation or achievement within the relevant IoT Community programme. They are not professional licences, regulatory accreditations or guarantees of competence unless we expressly state otherwise.

7. Community contributions and materials you provide

If you submit articles, comments, presentations, recordings, photographs, speaker materials, feedback, case studies or other material for publication or use by IoT Community (“Submitted Material”), you remain responsible for that material and for having the rights and permissions needed to provide it.

Unless a separate written agreement applies, by providing Submitted Material for publication, event delivery or community promotion you grant IoT Community a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, edit for presentation, distribute, display and promote that material in connection with the Services, IoT Community programmes and reasonable archival or promotional use.

We will not intentionally attribute a view to you that materially changes the meaning of your contribution. We may decline, edit, unpublish or remove Submitted Material where reasonably necessary for quality, relevance, legal, security or community standards.

8. Acceptable use

You must not use the Services to:

• break the law, infringe another person’s rights or encourage unlawful activity;
• upload malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, probe vulnerabilities or interfere with the availability or security of the Services;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, organisation or authority;
• send spam, unauthorised promotions or abusive communications through the Services;
• collect personal information about other users without an appropriate lawful basis;
• upload defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful material;
• manipulate assessments, certificates, attendance records or other programme records;
• use automated means to place an unreasonable load on the Services or bypass controls; or
• use attendee, member, speaker or sponsor information made available through a programme for unrelated mass marketing, resale or redistribution.

9. Third-party services, links and embedded content

The Services may link to, integrate with or embed services operated by third parties, including event, video, analytics, social, authentication, payment or other technology providers. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, content or independent practices. Their own terms and privacy notices may apply.

A link or reference to a third party does not by itself constitute an endorsement, partnership or warranty.

10. Information and speaker views

Content is provided for general information, professional discussion and education. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, it is not legal, financial, investment, medical, cybersecurity, engineering or other regulated professional advice.

Speakers, contributors and community members may express their own views. Those views do not necessarily represent IoT Community, its sponsors, partners or other participants.

You should apply your own professional judgement and obtain appropriate specialist advice before acting on information where the consequences could be material.

11. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Services useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, suspend, withdraw or change all or part of a Service or Content for maintenance, security, legal, commercial or editorial reasons.

We may suspend or restrict access where we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these Terms, misuse, security risk, non-payment, fraud or conduct that may harm IoT Community, its users or third parties.

12. Warranties and liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to the paragraph above, free Content and Services are provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not give implied warranties that Content will always be complete, current, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

For business users, to the fullest extent permitted by law, IoT Community will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings arising from use of free Content or Services.

Where you have purchased a Service, any liability provisions in the applicable purchase, membership, sponsorship or programme agreement will apply. Nothing in these Terms affects mandatory rights that apply to consumers.

13. Privacy and cookies

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Our websites may also use cookies and similar technologies. Where consent is required for non-essential technologies, choices are provided through the site’s consent controls.

14. Intellectual-property complaints

If you believe Content available through a Service infringes your intellectual-property rights, contact legal@iotcommunity.net with enough information for us to identify the work, the material complained of, your rights and your contact details. We may request additional information before taking action.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our Services, business model, technology or legal requirements. The current version will be posted on this page with its last-updated date. Material changes will apply prospectively unless applicable law requires otherwise.

16. Governing law

These Terms and any non-contractual dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are acting in the course of business, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. If you are a consumer, any mandatory rights you have to bring proceedings in another competent court are preserved.

17. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right. No person other than you and IoT Community has any right under these Terms unless expressly stated otherwise.
