Guy Merritt – As the Chief Innovation Officer at Global Validity, Guy’s role is to focus on innovations for systems engineering, Integration and Software Development to enable the support of a SaaS enable marketplace and managed services for our clients using the Access Manager platform which helps provide a complete end to end solution for attaining product certifications for global market access.
With over 30 years of high tech product development experience, Guy has a demonstrated track record of success of providing innovative solutions to a diverse set of industries. His technical background ranges from telecommunications, mobile devices, communication intelligence and next generation enterprise platforms.
Guy’s experiences in project management resulted in a collaborative writing effort for the book, “Proactive Risk Management: Controlling Uncertainty in Product Development” with the time-to-market guru, Preston G. Smith. “Proactive Risk Management” was recognized by Executive Book Summaries as one of the “Top 30 Business Books” and it was also awarded the David I. Cleland Literature Award by the Project Management Institute for being the most influential project management book. He also was a contributing author for a second book, “Field Guide to Project Management”.
A frequent speaker at many industry forums and universities where topics have included software fault modeling, metrics development, product development lifecycles, root cause analysis, and risk management.
The function of the IoT Community, is to focus on the adoption & application of IoT in commercial environments, seeking to understand & contribute to applying the technology or overcoming the wide variety of barriers, inhibitors, and technical & operational issues. As a member of the board, Guy, will provide impartial input and guidance to the overall vision, strategy and execution that is helping to shape the current and future direction for the IoT Community, as well as the broader IoT industry.
